Thanks for the verbal link love this episode (and the name’s perfect now
...I should probably quit commenting so much, I’ve been featured in so many episodes now you might think I’m a stalker or something
Per the discussion in the episode regarding SteadyState: you don’t have to set up a secondary partition to lock down the system, but you do have that option if you need a scratch-space for users to save stuff. Otherwise, the system works on a single partition…all four of my systems were factory installs of XP on refurb ThinkCenters (except one that had some hard drive issues and I had to reinstall XP). It also allows for automatic updates of Windows Update and antivirus at scheduled times when it reboots into unlocked mode and updates automatically.
I posted a rather lengthy review (although I’m not sure if I even included the above details) already on my blog (my name links to it).

Consider that the Mac Pro is “overpriced” because it’s not using desktop CPUs. Remember that it’s using two Woodcrest Xeon processors for the low-end and mid-end and two Clovertowns for the high-end “octocore” Mac. Only workstations like the Dell Precision models can really be compared and the Precision only allows for one processor, not two. That puts Apple’s price for the Mac Pro in perspective which really isn’t that bad for such a workstation.
What is lacking (and I think most of the Mac community agrees), is a Mac that comes between the iMac and the Mac Pro in terms of expansion. Unfortunately, Stevie J. doesn’t seem to think so.
Thanks again for the podcast.

As per the Wii lack of memory complaint. If your Wii’s internal RAM is getting full, all you need to do is put an empty SD card in the SD expansion slot. The Wii will then let you use this for VC downloads/game data. However, no, you can’t use this to move things between consoles, it uses DRM.

I just feel bad…
I just listened to your latest episode and heard the story of the new iMac purchase.
Terrible timing—but not your fault.
